Main features and application scope: This is a high-strength hard aluminum that can be strengthened by heat treatment. It has moderate plasticity in quenched and just quenched states, good spot welding, and a tendency to form intergranular cracks when gas welding is used. The alloy has good machinability after quenching and cold work hardening, but low machinability after annealing. Its corrosion resistance is not high, and anodizing treatment and painting methods or surface aluminum coating are often used to improve its corrosion resistance. The main purpose is to produce various high load parts and components (excluding stamped and forged parts) such as skeleton parts, skins, frames, ribs, beams, rivets, and other working parts below 150 ℃ on aircraft.

High strength: 2024 aluminum alloy has high tensile strength and yield strength, typically ranging from 350 MPa to 450 MPa in tensile strength and approximately 280 MPa to 320 MPa in yield strength.
Good heat treatment strengthening effect: Through appropriate heat treatment, the strength of 2024 aluminum alloy can be further improved while maintaining good machinability and formability.
A certain degree of heat resistance: suitable for working environments below 150 ℃. When the temperature is higher than 125 ℃, its strength even exceeds some other alloys such as 7075 alloy.
